Good morning. I am a rock hounding enthusiast from napier and wondering if there is anyone in the hawkes bay area that can help me identify and if possible verify what I believe to be either a large kimberlite rock or raw sapphire. Help would be much appreciated.

Hawke’s Bay Anniversary 2026 is observed on the Friday before Labor Day. This year it will be celebrated on October 24. A new region, Hawke’s Bay, was established on the month of November 1, 1858, when the territory that had before been part of Auckland Province was separated from the capital, Wellington. Since Labor Day is observed on the fourth Monday in October, Hawke’s Bay Anniversary 2026 is always celebrated around the middle to late October.
